These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GuideMe Tourist app, the GuideMe Guide app, and this website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
GuideMe is a marketplace that connects travellers with independent local guides for instant or scheduled trips. Guides are independent providers, not employees or agents of GuideMe. GuideMe facilitates booking, communication, tracking and payment, but the trip itself is an agreement between the traveller and the guide.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.
- One person per account; you are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Bookings, prices and cancellations
- Prices are shown clearly before you book. Your price is locked at the moment the guide accepts the trip and does not change during the trip.
- Scheduled trips ("Schedule Trip") are confirmed when the guide accepts; both sides receive reminders before the start time.
- Travellers may cancel before a trip starts; cancellation conditions are displayed during booking.
- Trips begin when the traveller shares the secure pickup code with the guide.
4. Payments, wallets and payouts
- Travellers may pay by card in the app (processed by our payment provider) or in cash directly to the guide, where available.
- Guide earnings are credited to the guide's in-app wallet when a trip is completed. Guides can request payouts to their preferred method.
- GuideMe charges guides a service commission per trip; the applicable rate is shown inside the Guide app before and during use.
- Cash trips may require the guide to settle the platform commission through the app.
5. Guide obligations
- Guides must complete identity and document verification before their first trip and keep their information accurate.
- Guides are responsible for complying with all local laws, licensing and tax requirements that apply to their guiding activity.
- Guides must provide the service personally with the account that accepted the trip.
6. Conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service — including harassment, discrimination, fraudulent bookings, attempting to move transactions off-platform to avoid fees, scraping, or interfering with the operation of the Service. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or put the community at risk.
7. Community content
- You retain ownership of the photos, posts and reviews you publish, and grant GuideMe a non-exclusive licence to display them within the Service.
- Content must be yours, lawful, and respectful. No misleading, infringing or explicit content.
- You can report content or users in the app; we review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts.
8. Safety features
Live tracking, pickup codes and verification are safety tools, not guarantees. Always use your own judgement when meeting people and travelling. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuideMe is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of travellers or guides. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which GuideMe is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
